I ordered the dual 867MHZ early on August 13th from Apple Store by telephone. I was told that the mouse and keyboard were black.

Huh... I figured the Whiteness� of Jaguar's Mouse and Keyboard control panels signified Apple's switch to all-white peripherals.
I guess we'll have to wait for the (hopefully) Totally New Power Mac in January.

they are black, but the kb and mouse cable are in gray, not silver as previous G4. Their color are similar to ipod's remote and headphone cable.

No, the QuickSilver 2002 models were all gray.
