Hello. I just got a new macbook and i was wondering if there was a way to transfer the music from my ipod to my macbook without buying an application. I know there is a way to do it with a pc, but i cant figure out how to do it with my new macbook.

I think you can hook up your iPod and tell iTunes to manually manage your music on your iPod. After that, you should be able to transfer your music to your MB. But you should not connect your iPod to your iTunes when iTunes asks for it, otherwise everything will be erased on your iPod!
Good luck

That's how I transferred my music to my new MBP. So it does work, at least it worked for me. As I said, it is important to not accept to hook up your iPod to your iTunes straight away.

Ah, sorry - I thought you were saying you could just copy it off the iPod within iTunes, which definitely does not work.

I know there's a way to use the iPod to transfer PURCHASED songs to a new computer (can't bring it to mind right now though). But wouldn't it be better and easier to transfer the whole library to the new computer?

Actually, iTunes will just *ask* you if you want to transfer purchased songs from your iPod when you try to restore it.

I used to use IpodDisk, but it no longer works on Leopard. Does anyone know of any that will work on Leopard?
