When people get problems with their X installation (through things put in rather than things taken out) the solution usually starts "Boot from your OS 9 CD..."
At some point, probably not coinciding with preinstallation, Apple will stop bundling OS 9 with X. What happens then?
Are there barriers to booting Unix from a read-only disk, or is simply a question of implementing it? I know that the X disk already loads a certain amount of OS X to run the installer, so it wouldn't appear so.
Any idea if Apple are going to restore this great functionality before we lose the OS 9 disk?
