Will iMac 20 hookup to DSL in same manner as Cable?
With Cable, the Mac hookups almost automatic...the connection will be direct connect with ethernet cable
The iMac 20 is G4 with OS 10.4.11
Thanks!

In both cases (DSL and Cable), you should have a modem between your computer and the outside line. The modem has an ethernet port on it. The iMac sees ethernet as ethernet and everything works great.

If it's an older DSL modem that lacks built-in PPPoE, that may be tripping up Dell Switcher. Otherwise, the connection should be just as effortless as Cable.
Are you trying a self-install, Dell Switcher?

The DSL modem/connection is already running using a 7 yr old PC. I am switching to iMac which is about 4-5 yrs old and I will attempt to install myself...if not works, then I will call Verizon
I am giving my iMac 20 to close friend
Thanks
