Did anyone encounter this problem:

On a freshly installed Win XP with slipstreamed SP2 I cannot reach Microsoft sites, M$ UPDATEsites (not even Winupdate autofunction) etc.

All the other websites work.

Any idea? I never had those problems with Win 2k. Viruscheck was negative.

Please refer to this thread, I had misplaced it and the Ops didn't move but close it, unfortunately. Wouldn't want to copy it here completely.

I'm having similar problem. I can't find our Windows server used for the printers. Our Windows guru is at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running XP Pro on VPC 7.0.1. I can see the server from OS X.

What's the network setting? VirtualShare or unique IP address?

I tried both and with Virtual Share it is as described, the other one gets me no net at all.

BTW, there's a VPC 7 support page here: http://support.microsoft.com/vpcmac7 - maybe helpful, maybe not (it doesn't seem to be so developed, yet).

To get XP Windows Update working again add "v5." in front of the address: http://v5.windowsupdate.... for SP2. For SP1 add v4.

it won't find ANY M$ websites. Doesn't matter which. It seems my slipstreamed XP is corrupted.
