Just a reminder to all those that may be interested, the perseid meteor shower is tonight. Get outside and enjoy the show. And if anyone happens to get some nifty pics, post 'em up!

It just started raining here in suburban DC (Mt. Rainier, MD) so no meteor showers for me.
I was looking forward to it as I haven't seen one in a number of years.

One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

Yeah, it's real cloudy here in Durham, NC, and is supposed to be tomorrow night, too. But tomorrow I may have a chance to drive somewhere clearer.

I'm planning to get out tonight - at least if the clouds clears. I'm crossing my fingers

What time is it?
I can see the sky from my bed (which is nice, being ill and all), but I don’t know if I’ll be able to see anything in the middle of the city, even without clouds. Can’t see any stars, usually, so maybe no meteors, either.

Didn't catch any last night; and the weather looks to be its usual cloudy self tonight.

I caught a glimpse of one last night. 10 minutes of watching failed to turn up another. We need bigger butterfly nets.

Just got back - did see a little, but mostly clouds.. My pictures are just classic star-trails with some silky clouds.... Maybe I did this wrong - do you guys leave the shutter open for a long time or boost the iso? My average was about 4 minutes at iso200, f4.

As predicted … can’t see a thing here in the city. It’s partly overcast, anyway.

Cloudy to the north, but not too bad otherwise.I saw a few last night, but it's too bright in the city. We might take a ride tonight and see if there's better luck away from the lights.

We just had the first effective rain here in months, and the sky is unlikely to even be overcast all night. On the whole, I'll keep the rain, but it sucks because I was going to go out and watch...

Either I saw one last night or I dreamt that I saw one. I'm not sure which was which, though, considering the consumption that was happening.
