iphone, messages not getting sound alert

Receiving text today, but not getting the normal sounds alerts. I've peeked around and can't figure it out. Anyone know what setting might have gotten tripped up? Thanks.

I know that it happens sometimes. I do not know why. Most of the time it either fixes itself or I restart my phone and everything's back to normal.

Ok GH, that's my experience too. EVery blue moon this happens and self resolves. Just wondering if any logic to it.
