As Gollum was done using real time motion capture (didn't hear anything about how Dobby was done, it must have been more of a traditional method using animators). he would be able to react far quicker to anything dobby could do. It would be sort of like 'The Matrix'.
Errm! Magic would have to be banned though  .
Gollum looks totally believable. I was amazed. If you didn't know that it was a CG character you wouldn't be able to guess by just watching the film.
