I think it would add a new level of experience to MacNN if we could view underneath a thread what people are typing in real time. On top of the increased interactivity that it would provide, an added bonus would be that we could see who can't spell (and is using autocorrect), who is pausing to consult Wikipedia since they actually know very little about the subject at hand, and all the ridiculous things people type and then delete before posting.
Surely there is some forum software that can manage that.

This doesn't go far enough. There should also be be code available to forcibly (and covertly) activate any embedded webcams, so we can see the state of the OP while typing.
