How much faster is 2.0? Safari 1.3 right now is very slow for me, even with the 10.3.9 update. My Tiger FINALLY shipped today (was expecting it today since I ordered it close to 2 weeks ago). If Safari 2.0 doesnt show a HUGE improvement, I might as well use Firefox or something. Safari 1.3 is slow. 56k style (ok not that bad, but it definitely does NOT seem like I'm using cable).

I think it's a vast improvement. I am a Firefox user, and I am contemplating switching to Safari. It's most definitely faster. They made great improvements on its rendering engine, such that all the sites that did not work previously, now work. I have yet to find a site that I frequent that does not work.

Safari 2.0 is noticeably faster than 1.3 IMO.

I am having a strange problem whereby I cannot log in to bank account anymore with Safari 2.0. It tells me my password is wrong when it isn't. I can still log in with other browsers and from another computer with Safari 1.3. Very anoying!

I'm getting varied results... I couldn't log into my credit card site with 2.0 last night but FireFox could. Then I tried it again this morning and 2.0 worked. Very strange.

Ditto. Safari feels as fast or faster than IE on a PC.

OMFG, how do I make Safari stop asking me "are you sure you want to download an application?" every friggin' time? Am I missing a security setting somewhere?

Otherwise, it seems pretty fast.

It's not that faster for me. Sites like MacNN or ArsTechnica take actually longer to load in my machine and have a lot of redrawing bugs. Other sites like i.e. MacRumors are much faster than before. Overall I feel it's taking longer to get where I want to.

Hmm, I wouldn't call it a lot faster, but I think you'll notice a little speed difference.

Now, I'm having a problem where I can't get 2.0 to display local .php files, instead it displays the code. 1.3 used to display .php files, just not the portion that needed to connect to an external database, if any existed.

I third that opinion.

Also what about the Private Browsing giving you that dialogue box every time you turn it on? It should be the first time only.
