Also, my man Baskerville deserves a mention.

^nice, for sans serifs I like the gothics.
Part of a test of a good font is if it's both iconic, but multipurpose, and still relevant years later. For that reason, I shy away from Gil Sans and Trump Medieval as being oh so late 80s and 90s trendy. I did so love them though.
Jenson.

Yeah, that's part of what got me into fonts back in the 70s. That, and seeing Helvetica everywhere.

Garamond was my first typeface love, but Apple played it out.

Used to like Myriad Pro, these days not really sure with the whole flat design thing.

Helvetia Letraset letters were like "perfection" for me. Considering my handwriting, that's not saying a lot, but it was very much an eye opener that lettering could be done so consistently. Mechanical drawing came later, but I only got to be mediocre with lettering.

I understand it is somewhat somber and ascetic, but that exactly fits the majority of my writing. The writings I am most proud of are set in this typeface. The fact that Charter has a complete set of math symbols in LaTeX is icing on the cake. If you ask me for a playful typeface that I like, I'd give a different answer (e. g. Feijoa).

Don't have a lot of interest in these things (except for knowing what is terrible), but I used to like Bookman. It remains readable down to really small sizes.
|
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Cool. Six years ago he has received a MacArthur Fellowship. At age 72!
