I'm in need of an application that allows me to paste text from the clipboard as unformatted text. I've looked at PTHPasteBoard and CopyPaste Pro but they do way too much. I only need one clipboard.
Is there an application that simply allows me to paste text as plain text (ideally, it'd use the normal paste key combination). Thanks in advance!

Don't know, but would using Paste and Match Style be OK, which typically has the key combo Command-shift-option-V (and if it doesn't, you can add that combo using Keyboard Shortcuts in Sys Prefs)?

Isn't that applications specific (e.g. Word)?

It's application specific, but most Cocoa application have that feature.
Word has a post-paste popup menu that allows you to do the same thing.

It is application specific only in the sense that apps which don't need it, don't have it (as you can only paste plain text because the app doesn't use rich text). There are exceptions such as that dog turd Office, which don't use the OS's way of doing it and have their own "Paste Special" but you can generally alter the keyboard shortcut to match the default used by everything else.

In other words, which app or apps do you need this in and do they already have the menu option to Paste and Match Style?
If you need help with keyboard shortcuts let us know. E.g. if you need to add or change any.

Thanks. I've been using Macs for 10+ years so I know most keyboard shortcuts...I was hoping there was something less than $30 (or free) that does what I want (e.g. strip all formatting from the clipboard). I may play with PlainClip and Sparks but I'm not too fond of that combo...

I use TextEdit. Open TextEdit, switch to Plain Text Mode (Apple-Shift-T), then paste in there. All formatting will be stripped. Then you can copy and paste it back into something else.
You could probably write an Automator script that does it for you.
