It looks like the AIX version is $945. The Mac OS X version is only $499. You can download 60 day trial versions of either one.

If you follow the link that davechen provided, you'll see a link to:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdt...xlcpp-mac.html

Which has a link to:

http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp...sp?go=y&rs=xlc

Which has a link to let you download the free 60-day trial of the XLC compiler for MacOS X version 6. And the next time someone provides you with helpful information, try to use it to solve the problem yourself.

hello,

The given information by u is not sutable to my platform.u suggested XL C for mac os but not for AIX.I am new to this platform.I am having TRIAL: XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V6.0 for Mac OS X - 60-day Evaluation. But Some One told that this is for Mac OS only but not for AIX.Now my question is Can i use this compiler in my platform. I am giving my platfrom details.

DB2 V8.1.4 on Aix 4.x or 5.x
on Hardware RS/6000 SP S7A a cluster environment.

Can i use the taril version suggested by u to this platform.

No you cannot use the MacOS X compiler on AIX. You need to download the evaluation copy of XLC specifically for AIX. It is obvious English is not your primary language but I'm confused as to why this is a problem for you. You need to follow the first link and download an evaluation copy. This is a Mac forum and not an RS/6000 forums. While Macs use PowerPC processors they're entirely different machines than the RS/6000s.

An evaluation version of the XLC compiler for AIX can be found here.

This is a forum for Macintosh users. If you have questions related to AIX, you will have better luck somewhere like this:

For most unix compilations the normal procedure is: configure-make-make install. How do I use the IBM XL/C compiler to accomplish the same?

You would still do this. During the configure step there is a flag to specify the compiler path.
