Has anyone else who uses a Microsoft Intellipoint optical mouse noticed a gradual decline in mouse speed when using it for a while under 9.1? I tend to push my mouse speed up towards "fast" in the control panel, but after an hour or so it gradually slows down to normal. It reverts back to it's quick pace after rebooting.

Anyone?

I use the Apple mouse control panel, and I haven't noticed any problems. The intellimouse control panel speed makes the cursor waaaaaaaay too fast for me.

I must suggest you use USB Overdrive for your mouse - it rocks.
Stable as and awesome control.
Get it.

I have an Explorer on my DP500 and have the speed setting in the intellipoint CP just below fast. Never noticed the cursor slowing down. I run two monitors, a 17" @800x800 and a 20"@ 1024x768 minimum and need the mouse to MOVE. Have been on 9.1 for several weeks now too. Think I'll check out USB O.D. anyway, thanks Cipher.

I agree with Cipher, but the Intellimouse 1.1 software works just fine on my G4 with OS 9.1.

I've been experiencing it with 8.6!! Right now I'm thinking the source may be iTunes 1.0's CD/DVD driver 1.4.3. Unplugging and plugging resolves it until next time.
The intellimouse driver was more featured version of USB overdrive without the joystick stuff last time I looked. Why would I want to lobotonize the mouse.

I have to agree with the last post. Scrolling using the scroll wheel stinks in USB Overdrive -- it was much smoother with the Intellipoint driver. Plus, USB Overdrive doesn't solve my "slowdown" problem. Unplugging the USB cord and popping it back in did though...temporarily.

I'm glad you were able to make sense of my late night post tdominey, downgrading the CD/DVD driver to 8.6's v1.2.2 seems to have resolved the issue for me.

Yeah I've got one on the dual 500.
I hate that mouse.
With USB Overdrive it is a BREEZE to set it up to do whatever you want.
It really is an awesome program, dunno what I'd do without it.
Set the speed to "Fast 100" too.

hey tdominey, my problem turns out to be caused by a bad connection in the mouse. I have my order in for a replacemnt under warranty.
