Should I pull the trigger now on a $599 refurb'd Mac Mini with Superdrive?
Or will I likely get a better price after the MWSF keynote?
Just looking for best guesses from people more knowledgeable than I.

This is an auxiliary machine for my kid to use Final Cut Express & iTunes; so, I am looking for cheap, not latest/greatest.

Thanks!

Do prices ever get worse with time?

Yes, if they announce a new Mac Mini, then they may quickly run out of refurb'd old ones ... at which point, the best price for a Mac with Superdrive might be $699 (current retail).

i would wait until after the keynote - there will be more refurbs and lower prices on new minis too - i'd be more worried about not getting your hands on a refurbed powerbook or something like that - are minis really selling that well????

I'm thinking that the refurbs and the used minis will drop $100 instantly afterwards

Even if the rumors of 'aggressive' pricing on new Intel-based Macs is not true, would $100 off a G4 based mini be worth it when the new machines should offer performance close to, if not better than, current single-core G5 systems?

Its the whole bang for the buck theory... In that case maybe they will drop $200

I'd get one without a superdrive and buy an extenal dvd burner later. The superdrives are not good drives.
