I'm in Melbourne, and watched the new Dell TV ad a few times, with this really obnoxious character promoting Dell computers on a fish boat or some other fishing related locality.
The location is beyond the point, what the focus is, is the obnoxious, confrontational, and most of all facile approach of the actor trying to sell me a Dell computer. In a sad attempt at humor, he tries to convince a fish to purchase a Dell computer... "You better get a Dell mate!"
After watching something like that, I'd be more influenced to build my own computer out of cardboard, paperlcips and toilet rolls.
I know some other people living in Australia on this board are being subjected to this excuse for advertising, I just hope they haven't seen it as many times as I.

Funny. I have never seen a Dell TV ad. I've only seem them in print (they print a lot... everywhere in the newspapers and mags).

I walked in part way through it, saw the end, and thought... "WTF? That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen".
Luckily for them I don't pay any attention to advertising (except the kind with giant naked women on billboards).
