Have a MAC G5 and a PowerBook G4. Have an album of photos in iPhoto on the G4. Want to copy the album to a smart drive and copy from the drive to the MAC G5 iPhoto Library.

When I try to copy selected photos to the smart drive, iPhoto copies them to the MAC G5 Desktop!

What am I doing wrong? Also, do you have better suggestion?

Huh? What's a "smart drive?" Do you mean a USB flash drive? Are the G4 and G5 networked together? Are you exporting from iPhoto or just copying from the iPhoto library?

Sorry, just an error - meant flash drive.
Would like to copy an album from the iPhoto Library on the G5 to a flash drive; then copy it to the iPhoto Library on the MAC G5.

I thought it would be a simple Copy - Paste action, but no luck.

You mean that you select what you want to copy, hit Copy, select you flash drive, and hit Paste? That won't work. Paste puts the files in the currently open folder (your desktop in this case), not the selected one. Just open the flash drive, and then do Paste, and you should be in business.
