My wife has an Intel Macbook she uses for work, mostly runing windows via Boot Camp. Several days ago, the XP side refused to boot. OSX seemed fine. I updated the firmware & software, dl's BootCamp 1.1.2, & am attempting to reinstall XP. However, it is stuck at 34% on the format operation. Been sitting there about 1.5 hours. I'm not too familiar with Macs, but I have loaded XP a million times on various machines & don't recall ever seeing this. I'm wondering if the hdd is hosed (posted here not in the alternate OS section because I'm thinking it's a hardware issue). Is there a utility I can run from OSX which will check the HDD? At present, the drive is partitioned 25 gig OSX, 75 gig XP. Any suggestions appreciated.

TIA

Fred

After sitting at 34% for about 2 hours, I powered off & restarted boot camp. This time, when XP got to the formatting part, it presented the option of "quick format", which had not appeared the 1st time. Using this I was able to load XP.
