I just saw the nano ad and I have to say that I really like it. It's not the usual iPod ad style, but IMHO this ad really let's the viewer "feel" how light and small the nano is. The movements are so smooth... I must have one!

Why? That doesn't make sense. The smaller the hands, the bigger the nano looks.

I give the commercial a "meh". It's good to see iPod commercials that aren't the dancing silhouettes, but this one doesn't really communicate the "wow" I felt when I saw the nano the first time.

I'm not sure why I'm saying thing, but I got the impression it makes the nano appear insignificant. There was something very DIY about that ad that's not befitting to the sheen Apple has cultivated over the past few years.
It's the devil's way now.

yeahhhh.... this makes no sense when the point of the ad is the scale of the device in someone's hand.

It was a black background for a change, not white like the old Gap-style ads.

Not much "wow" factor in the ad compared to what we're used to with the iPod brand, but a very effective add none the less.

The message is loud and clear:

1) here is the iPod Nano, look how small and thin it is
2) despite it's size it's still very easy to use
3) everybody wants one

Precisely why I prefer petites/spinners, small faces, tighter...

Sorta reminds me of this image.

John the Baptist by Leonardo da Vinci, but hey its just me... and its more the picture of it on apple's front page.

meh is correct. It didnt show the nano off very well. The damn thing kept moving all over(kinda nauseating). But i do like the black background as opposed to the gawdy silhouettes ads.

I think my fave iPod ad was the one where that dude walks through NYC(i think), with the iPod and the silhouettes posters start dancing when he walks past em.

I really liked the ad. I had a hard time comprehending how small this thing actually was until I saw the Steve Job's keynote (where he takes it out of his jean's change pocket), and then this TV ad.

It is extremely effective in communicating the products size, which is undoubtedly its "biggest" advantage (no pun intended).

I agree with some others in that there was a lot of motion, however, you did get to see pretty much every angle of it. Overall, I think the choice they made was good. "Silhouette" just would not have worked for this product. I can't wait to see the MacTel ads, should be pretty interesting stuff.

I give the ad only a 7/10, but at least it's not yet another silhouette ad.

Seconded. After the first couple of silhouette-style commercials, they got old. The concept of "being in your own world" while listening to your music has been sold for a while now, and it's time to start thinking about the logistics of carrying your music around with you. My 60G iPod Photo looks BIG compared to the Nano, but compared to just about anything else, it's still small. Now I just need to find earbuds with a longer cord so I can keep the iPod in my pocket...

I bet Apple pays those people in their commercials a bunch of money because they are being held in prison until the products are officially released.
