Hey
Situation:
I have a g4 Digital Audio PowerMac, for some reason Mac OS X was acting strange and not letting me launch any new applications. So I restarted it and now when it boots it doesn't get past the login in screen (the blue bar is full but it just never launches).
I have moved around a lot and have bought ever version of 10 (1.2.3.4) and I can't find any of them (slight depressing i know)... Is the only way to fix this issue with the 10.4 dvd?
Is it possible for me to use my brothers 10.4.2 restore DVD for his iBook? Or would that have specific drivers only for the ibook?
Edit: update I now have a 10.4 install DVD

Have you tried booting it up with holding the shift key?

No I didn't (forgot thats how you boot into safe mode).
I actually never used safe mode before.
Its probably some crapy software my bothere installed / removed.
Should I be able to fix it in safe mode?

This computer does:
- azureus (personally found to be the best bt client for mac)
- iTunes serving
- Media server for x-box

Well I did a system restore with a 10.4 install dvd (my friend was kind enough to let me borrow hers). And it is still doing the same thing. It gets to the launch mac os x and the blue bar fills up and just sits there. I tried booting into safe mode and it doesn't get past the gray screen with the pinwheel.
I think I will unplug the other hard drive on it today. Possibly throw it in an external (nothing important is on this computer but I just have to check). And do a complete wipe of the hard drive.
If this doesn't work anyone have any ideas?
