Gateway on Thursday reported a larger-than-expected first-quarter loss due to restructuring charges, and it announced plans to lay off 1,500 more employees by the end of the year, reducing its number of people to about 2,000.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; they're done. It's just a matter of time.

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

It stinks because at one point in time, they were worth the money, but Dell has destroyed them.
eMachines aren't horrible, but they aren't going to save them...

Does this make you happy? Is your love of Apple so great that 1,500 people losing their jobs is cool? ****, I hate you and I wouldn't want you to lose your job. You are putting a ugly face on Christianity.
And don't claim your lack of commentary (as usual) absolves you from guilt. Your motives for posting this are clear. Although I know you will claim that you are just posting a news story. You are transparent.

You must be joking. I don't see any smilies though, so perhaps you aren't. Is your real name Ted Waitt, perchance?

I'll be honest, I'm kind of happy they are going under. I sure hope those jobs are picked up elsewhere, but realistically they will, but they won't be in this country.
Their advertising is behind the times, they can't compete with their hardware and they aren't priced appropriately.
It's a sure sign of the times.

In the late nineties that's exactly what peeps were saying about Apple.

You hate Zimph for posting a news story? That pretty much makes you sludge, you know that don't you?

All you have to do is repent on your death bed and all is forgiven.

OK, break it up, you two.
What chalk_outline did was uncool; nothing more than a cheap thread-jack. Joining in the fun wasn't the brightest thing SWG has ever done, but his posts lack the virulence of chalk_outline's. I don't see any real attempt at flaming from SWG here -certainly not on the scale of chalk_outline- but I'd suggest you two calm down before a real flamewar breaks out.
As for you, chalk_outline, kindly leave your personal hatreds at the door.

If he did, what would Michael Dell have to grab ahold of?
