Adam has released a new beta version of his kick-ass AIM client, Adium. 1.5b1 brings a ton of new features and improvements, but it's still in beta and a little bit buggy. Anyway, you can get it here: http://homepage.mac.com/adamiser

Thanks for letting us know! It's SO much better and faster. I think the new and more choices of apps icon are cute but still don't fit my type. I just hate any icons that is related to animals unless it fit the purpose of the apps.

yeah, it just keeps getting better. Within a minute I found and sent in a bug report. and a feature request.

Yay! Though there is no FT, I'm still happy. I'm sure Adam will implement as soon as he can (if possible).

sigh

File transfer is not possible with AIM's TOC protocol.
This beta is looking nice though. I'm glad to see he fixed the "Preset aways not sending out right" bug. That one really bothered me.

Btw, I use these replacement icons: http://brad.project-think.com/downloads/adium-icons.sit

edit: The original server is down. I am mirroring the icons temporarily.

Hi
is the 'logging of conversations' feature working for anyone? I have it turned on in the preferences but i can't find the "~/Library/Adium" folder.

Logging works fine for me, but remember that 1.5 uses a different location for prefs:

~/Library/Application Support/Adium/

Cool icons StarfleetX....

does anyone have an idea what the huge blank space is above a users profile in single window mode?

The only thing lack of feature I find annoying is links.. it is nice to be able to just make a hyper link for someone to use.

Cut and paste doesn't work for you? Or do you mean you want your own custom text w/ the link?

I love the built in log viewer!

Maybe I'm just missing it, but I can't find any way in Adium to search for people's screename by email address or whatever - is there no such feature?

Heh, just wonderin'. Actually, now that I dusted off my AIM program, I don't even see such a feature in there.

Great program, by the way. Even thought the duck noises were a bit disconcerting at first.

Adium rocks, so much better than AOL's sad, pathetic attempt (it's been how long now and they still haven't finished carbonizing it?). I just wish blocking worked, only then can I use my main screen name and not just play around on a BS screen name.
