That's Redhat Linux on the desktop you dolts. Guess that makes me some sort of geek gawd because I themed the window manager to look like Win2000. Yeah, there are a lot of icons on the desktop. It's a computer. I put stuff there to click on it.
Hey! Let's see pictures of YOUR setup!!!
I always wanted to see an iMac or maybe one of those elusive Wallstreets.
Wait.
Everyone knows what your puter looks like before they even see it.
that's gotta feel pretty lame.

Let's all ignore tn.
That dude is crazy, he's sick, and a pain in the ass to talk to.
This thread is NOT hijacked
Now will everyone please ignore those huge ugly pieces of **** that are sitting around on the last page? Those things look like they were taken out of old cars or something.
beauty? I think not. You think that stuff is beautiful tn? I think you need to get your eyes checked.
And linux? I run unix :-P I have more icons on my desktop than you could fit on all of your monitors combined
And why the **** would anyone want their OS to look LIKE windows?!

ya. i hang my head in shame every day that my computer doesnt look like a table. i can barely stand to walk into my little home office without crying. then theres my ibook, it doesnt really have any place of its own around the house so it could be ANYWHERE. just sitting there. waiting for me to glance at it and feel bad that its not covered in copper tubing.

I saw a table at an antique store once that had Giraffe pelt covering the top, and the legs were actual Giraffe legs.
Maybe I could stuff the guts of my Cube in that thing, and have something ol' TN'd be proud of.
Y'know, I USE my computer to do stuff I couldn't do without one. It works really damn well. Plus, it's really small and quiet. I use my tables to put things on. Things like magazines, and glasses of water, or what have you. Function is the key here. Still cruisin' on that uptime, too (29 days) just to keep things semi O.T.

does anyone listen to love line with adam corola and Dr. Drew? i wish i had that bad ass sound clip of some dude saying
"WHOOOOOOO CARES"
because that would be perfect for this thread, or maybe the dancing spider mand that says
"this thread is gay"
that might fit too. think about it how manly is your server?

One of my friends got 129 days on his Linux workstation.. he shut it down for yearly room cleanup.
I had 68 days on one of my servers, had 48 days on a MacOS X server, shut down because of a loose power cable (D'OH!), and my iBook got 13 days.

Well, since I've been paying attention to the uptime, I've had a 14 day run. Although the computer sleeps most of the day and all night.

< two hours away from 33 days of uptime
I don't see any OSX installs doing THAT...but I hear a lot of zealots pretending that they've done it.
newsflash:
33 days of uptime AND I'm the only mofo that can access the forums.
Gonna power down later today to install heatpipes on my Xeons. Way cool technology, btw.

I'm playing with a WinXP laptop right now.. someone gave it to me for me to fix it. The OS uptime is not to bad.. it's just that Explorer.exe crashes every 5 minutes..
I'm installing updates.. if that doesn't work.. it's format and reinstall..

Nothing really. There's not a single element in my character that has anything against homosexuals of any type. I've known a few gay people, quite nice folk.
>snip<
Dude, quit it with the pics already.
Dude and TN, stop fighting on the forums.

man (term used loosely), that's one hell of a funny statement you've made, right there. do you go round checking these things? do you have ssh access to everyone's mac, so you can log in and check their uptime, so that you can make statements like that? i guess you missed a few, if so. mine are pretty low at the moment, since i installed 10.2, but i've been longer than your 33 before now. my hotline server is currently at 57 days, but that's running 8.6
thread title: Whats your best uptime in OS X?
run along hick, and take your little XP box with you. i can hear your brother playing his banjo, he's waiting for you to join him...

I'm not keeping tabs (as I am using an iBook, not a server), but before I installed 10.2 I had 27 days and 3 hours according to the Terminal.app
