hey all, i was under the impression that the 105 should burn at 4x on DVDs? but when i try a session in Toast, i cannot burn more than 2x. i would REALLY like to know how to get it to burn 4x. unless of course the 105 doesn't actually do 4x DVD? Any help?

I have a Pioneer 105 (LaCie FW Case) on my machine and it burns from 1X to 4X with no problems whatsoever. It could be a media problem. How is your 105 configured (internal or external) ? What media are you using - brand and speed.

Mine is external and I use Toast 5.2.1 with mainly Ritek 4X discs. Never a problem. Hope this helps.

thanks for your reply :-) it is an internal, and i am using Toast 5.2.1 with Verbatim DVD for General (that's what it says on the disc) we get them in bulk and there's no label on it....so i don't know about the speed. things get burnt fine though, so i guess i just want it faster. i'll check to see if we have any 4x specific discs here....thanks!
