OK, if you read my earlier post about my PowerBook not starting up you'd know some of you guys advised me to go to an AppleCentre. So I did, they told me to reinstall OS X. The problem however is that because I have 10.3.4 installed on my HD and the CDs are 10.3.0, it won't let me reinstall. Is there anyway around this or fixing this?

You need to reformat the drive, which of course wipes everything out. Make sure you have backups as you will lose everything.

Or do an Archive & Install, which does not erase anything, and can preserve your users and settings.

Did you get your 10.3 CDs with the computer (separate from the Install DVD)? If so, they might be upgrade-only. In which case, you'll have to install 10.2 from the Software Install DVD, then upgrade with the 10.3 CDs.

I'm not sure an Archive and install works when your downgrading if it does great if not, he has to reformat.

You can always do an archive and install, even when downgrading.
