So those you celebrate or just have a larger meal (possibly with the family), what do you enjoy having or plan to have?
My family is the normal turkey, cranberry, etc. family, but my grandfather (on my father's side) hate turkey so they always had chicken and then a tiny little turkey if anyone wanted it.

It is dreams that will survive, for a dream is immortal.

I plan on celebrating with my minions and their families.
Probably another wild boar in lieu of turkey, though I don't eat slaughtered flesh unless I've done the slaughtering myself- which is rarely.

Anyhoo, the usual fare - mash, string beans, yams and marshmellow, broccoli, salad, corn on the cob, corn sans the cob, plus tons of other enticing epicurean edibles. And lots of cake, pie and chocolates. I look forward to thanksgiving

It would be unfortunate if your celebration gathering were to be... interrupted unexpectedly.

I can only say that you won't be so unexpected, at least now.
Please do bring your own fork, so that I may stick you with it.

For the first time in a number of years thanksgiving we will NOT be hosting thanksgiving at our house. I'm extremely pleased by this. The wife, the kids and I will be heading over to my niece's house. I'm very pleased by this, hosting a turkey-day celebration is a ton of work and costs a lot of money. Even if other people bring food, you still have to lay out some serious cash.

I'm looking forward to be a sampling the cuisine and not worrying about cooking it. Sitting back and relaxing instead of being a good host, and entering a heavenly food coma and watching the game

Normally, me, my dad, and a couple of my uncles converge on NYC with our respective women for thanksgiving with their sister (who lives in Manhattan) and mother (who lives in New Jersey).

This year, apparently, it will only be me, my fiancée, my aunt, and my grandmother. No idea why everyone else isn't coming.

I'm still curious as to whether or not you're pleased about it.

I'll be working Thanksgiving this year. My crew and I are all bringing in and cooking us a thanksgiving meal. I'm frying a turkey with dressing, someone else is bringing veggies and the Leu is bringing some desserts. We'll watch a football game, have some family come by and hope for a nice quiet day with no calls.

I do think that some normal citizens will bring us some food also...they always do. That's extremely nice.

This year we're getting together with our son's godparents and having turkey hot dogs with turkey chili. My wife has to work both Thursday and Friday, so we're putting the "feast" off until the weekend. What that will entail is something I have yet to be briefed in on...

Veggie thanksgiving. I think a tofurkey and whatever elses in that box (I'm not a big fan, but it's tolerable), I'm making a veggie shepherds pie, maybe some vegan mac & cheese, probably some fashion of pie for dessert.

My wife and I just bought an old house here on the Vineyard, and are trying to get it as ready as we can before our December move in date. So tomorrow we are heading over with our seven year old, Bodhi the dog, a daughter home from college and whoever else and having a paint party. At the end we'll have our Thanksgiving spread. Turkey sandwiches, with all the trimmings, dessert, brew and wine, candles and pillows since we have not a stick of furniture in the place yet. I'm looking forward to this over the usual frenzy we normally have round here.

I started randomly banning people at my family's thanksgiving party last year. Now I'm not allowed to this one.

But it's okay, I've got ramen and beer.

I am grilling a turkey with a pomegranate molasses and black pepper glaze, cornbread and sausage dressing, roasted butternut squash soup with harissa, oven roasted pears with thyme and gorgonzola, scalloped sweet potatoes, and a NY cheesecake with lemon curd drizzle. Dirty martinis, pom martinis, beer and wine.

Food is what I am being told. I am not allowed in the kitchen.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

I hate turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn, etc. Also not looking forward to seeing my family.

The movie sounds like a good idea, never thought of doing that.
