I need to burn some dual layer discs, which dual layer discs (DL+R or DL-R) do I buy so that the discs are most compatible with Macs?

For example, iLife 2006 came on a dual layer disc yet even though my Powerbook G4 wasn't speced specifically to read dual layer, it can read the iLife 2006 disc no problem. I want to make sure that the discs I burn will work with a wide variety of Macs.

btw, I'll be using an Intel iMac 20" and Toast Titanium 7.02 to burn the discs.

All DVD drives can read dual layer disks; the non-dual-layer part of your PowerBook is regarding burning disks.

Both the plus and minus varieties should work equally well in Macs. For dual layer disks, the plus standard is usually a bit cheaper ($1.50/disk instead of $2.25/disk) since they've been on the market longer.

Just a warning from personal experience. I've never had luck with Maxell or Memorex DVD-R(W)s on the Macs I've owned. Lots of coasters or burn failures.

The only two brands that have ever been consistently good for me have been Sony and Verbatim.
