Just got my PB G4 3 weeks ago. All was good and fine until my wife watched a DVD during flight. She shut it down and didn't eject the DVD. Now the machine won't boot. The fan runs and you can hear the Superdrive spinning up, however there are no lights, chimes, or screen. Tried several ejection options on initial start-up: option+power, opt+com+o+f+power, d+power, c+power, but to no avail. Any other suggestions besides the obvious of taking it back the Mac store?

Netflicks is gonna be pissed. Guess I owe them a movie...

Yup. That was the first thing I tried. It appears that nothing is getting power except for the drive and fan. The keypad doesn't light up, backlight or caps lock, nor does the case top logo...

Well, if you are getting nothing other than fan and spinup, then the problem has nothing to do with the disk stuck in the drive. If you don't even get a boot chime, you have bigger problems. You don't mention which PB you have, but if you've added memory, remove it. If it's a 12", remove the DIMM and try booting off of the onboard memory.

It's a bone stock 15" 1.5ghz. Nothin' special.

Maybe try a PMU reset?

I have extactly the same problem/s - tried rest the PMU, did not work!

Any ideas?

Just want to update you as for the solution that I found on other forums:

I suspect that my problem and probably yours are due to a the PMU (Power Management Unit) - mine seems to get corrupted when I set the Power Monument Unit to never go to Sleep and then manually force it to sleep.

At any rate resetting the PMU did not work for, neither the other solution that Apple support suggested.

I tried booting in Safe mode but again, no success here either.

My last resort was booting in single User Mode i.e. Shift + S immediately after the startup sound - That allowed me into the promote (meaning, no GUI just the basic terminal mode that runs behind the scenes)

Then I run "fscK -f" forcing the system to perform volume check and repair (similar to Disk Utility when the system is running), after that I reboot using the "reboot" command. Doing so allowed me back into the computer. I still need to see if this helped on the long term as well... but at least I am back in
