Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

Hey Guys .. this is USB HUB (CATSCEO's MOM). And yes it is a real tattoo. And yes the swelling has to go down. And yes I agree it is a personal choice for a tattoo. This is is. And we discussed for over three months so he understands it's not easy to remove. And no .. it's not a tat I would choose but I'd rather he had this then what I have ... Dagger and a Rose, Kitty Cat, and SB6 (which in the near future will be Sister Bitch 6). So to each their own and let's all just have fun.
Oh .. and yes he earned the money to have it done.
Now here is my next tattoo ... What do you think?? Actually CATSCEO said NOOOOO!!!!!

I knew a guy who had the phrase "BORN TO MAKE LOVE" tattooed down his forearm in huge block letters. He worked at a Steak 'n Shake with my friend. Ha. I forget what his real name was, since we only called him borntomakelove. That was seriously his name for years.
I think that's the best tattoo I have ever seen.

Was it the tattoo marks left over from the gender change surgery?

Yeah, I knew a girl who had a (huge) lotus flower tattooed where her pubes should have been. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it looked more like an artichoke.

Well, if a colorful dragon gets left over from the gender change surgery, maybe.
I will let you imagine the position of the dragon.

I had nothing constructive to say earlier when I viewed this thread, and I still don't think that I do.
Firewire logo is cool, as far as logos go. But good god on this green earth I don't understand getting a tattoo of it, and with the numbers below, just.. what the hell?

It is kinda weird going down on a girl and all of a sudden you feel like you are in an episode of Pokemon.

Requesting a Rick Astley shop, all the shops in this thread seriously made me lol.
EDIT: I'll warn you guys that I'm going to get a motorcycle (probobly a Harley) ahead of time, that way you can get your rant out before hand.

Can we have another picture CATSCEO, just to see the healing process. I'm seriously interested, it would be better than the run-of-the-mill 'unboxing' photosets that are everywhere.

I'm always amazed by the reaction that some people have to what other people choose to do to their own bodies. The criticism you get over even relatively small and innocuous tattoos is ridiculous. When I got mine, I had the artist copy exactly my own sketch, even though I'm not the best artist in the world (he did add a little bit of shading to my original design after checking with me first). As a result, though it might not be the best possible rendition of the image, it's exactly the way I wanted and completely personalized to me. Despite that I still had a number of people insist that I should go back to the artist and demand my money back because he'd done a crappy job. It's ridiculous.
I have plans for several more, including some large ones, but my next one is probably going to be pretty small and not something that anyone will see unless the happen to be my wife or with me at a pool or the beach or something. It's also just going to be a small bit of text. Nevertheless I have no doubt that I will receive no end of criticism over my choice of text, typeface/calligraphic style, positioning, language, &c.
It's my body, I'll do with it as I please, and I'd appreciate it if everyone would just mind their own business. The only time I ever comment on someone else's tattoo uninvited is to compliment them on it. If I can't do that, I shut up about it.

The big question is this: Is the tattoo in a conspicuous place? If one isn't trying to make a statement or elicit a reaction from others (and wants everyone to just mind their own business) then it should be put in a private place.
I've had my nipples pierced for years (maybe I should start a new thread ..... with pics) ... almost none of my friends or family knows. Not that they'd really care... but it's just not important.... I did it for myself.

The one I have now is on my forearm and so is exposed when I'm wearing short sleeves, or, more specifically in my case, my okinawan-style karategi in which context the meaning of the tattoo is quite evident.
But even for tattoos that are in easily visible places, so what? If I had a big hairy mole on my forearm instead of a tattoo would you comment on it?

Are you in the habit of having big hairy moles installed on your body?

Oh really?
You and a few others in this thread are the only ones who have given me flack for it. All of the other people I have talked to have said that the tat is awesome, even the Ubuntu guys on freenode think its awesome (and they hate Apple, and by extension firewire, with a passion).
I still don't know why exactly you have such a big thorn in your butt over me, it doesn't bode well for you though.
/end drama hopefully

I didn't say it as a negative. I am simply telling him those are the 3 questions everyone will ask when they see it. You never know he could get a kick out of explaining what firewire is to people.

I think particularly you and a few others have been overly harsh on him and HIS tattoo. Its not like he's forcing you to get it. It was important to him yet you kept getting on his case about the design. why not be a little more positive and let him enjoy it. There's too many people in the world that are negative and get on other's cases - why be one of them
