Hi, maybe someone can help. My old firewire ipod still charges ok either with the mac or with the charger and plays audio through the jack.
It will not show up on the desktop, or in disk utilities, or in disc rescue 2.
Have tried different verified fw cables and three macs, changing only one item at a time.
its now plugged in to my stereo and playing fine though the audio out jack.
I have 2900 odd music tracks on there and would really like to get it working on he mac again.
I lost a lot of the originals in a fire, so apart from a big spend the ipod is all I have.
I have tried the reset menu and play, get the apple logo ok then the ipod displays normal screen, have also tired to do diagnostics << and >> together, does not work just goes to the big tick. Then has to reset as above back too normal..
