The other day I was sitting at my computer when my ears affixed on the sound of my harddrive thrashing in a rather cyclic pattern. After a little investigation I discovered that when the sound Control Panel is open the OS continuously hits the drive until closed.
Very odd polling behavior, can some else verify this?
