According to Mac Mojo, it still isn't ready.

Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

Well to MS's defense, they did say second half of the year.

I'm really looking forward to the Intel-native Office 2008 Mac. My main machines are Intel Macs, and I just installed Office 2004 on a G5 iMac. It feels sooooo much faster on the G5 (even though it isn't even exactly super fast on the G5 either).

I wonder if office sales are going to be hurt by parallels/boot camp.
I own office 2007 and I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to spend extra $$ to run office under osx.
I'm sure I'm going to get flamed but I only have a finite amount of money and I needed office 2007 (well pc version of office) for my job so it's tough to justify buying mac office when I already have it running within parallels (which is usually running on my machine. If I'm thinking of doing this, then I wonder how many other users are thinking the same thing.

It is an interesting argument. Perhaps increased Mac sales in recent years will offset the number of people who go to Win office.

Sales are far more likely to be hurt by its increasing crippleware status (no VBA support = even worse compatibility with Windows Office than there is now).

I'll be sticking with Parallels until a solid VISIO contender is out for MAC. I run Office 2007 on parallels and Office Mac on O/S - flipping back and forth depending on whether I am in a right or left brain side mood.

Definitely, I forgot about that little issue. I have some pretty involved VBA macros, not being able to run them is a show stopper.

Personally, I'm fairly excited about the upcoming Carbon-based OpenOffice, which promises to be much significantly faster than NeoOffice. It's also due to be in late alpha/early beta around the same time that Office 2008 comes out.
