Looks like faulty graphics card RAM to me. Have you tried the other graphics card DVI out? (I know that this should not help solve your problem if it is the graphics card's DDR RAM.)

The fact that you can screenshot it, almost certainly means it's a VRAM issue. Looks like a new card will be in order.

Let me guess - you have a X1900XT in your machine.
Try taking out the card and blowing out the dust with a can of compressed air. Otherwise, its probably time for a new card. Mine did the same thing several times before killing itself by overheating despite repeatedly blowing out the dust.

Did you try restarting the machine? I'm one of those that really doesn't believe in sleeping machines. Maybe the RAM or VRAM was corrupted in sleep.

I had the same problem yesterday. I woke up the G5 and found that both Cinema Displays had all kinds of green lines and garbage on them. I pulled my 9800 Pro and threw in the FX-5200 that the machine came with, and all is well. I'm really bummed, considering graphics cards for the G5 are priced well beyond ridiculous.
I'd love to get an x800 XT for it, but considering it costs more than an arm, leg, and part of my head, I'm probably just going to stick with the FX-5200 until I can upgrade the machine later on.

Yep, that's a bad card. Something on the board has definitely fried, shorted out, or just died. Happened on my X800 and no amount of restarting or OS-reinstalls would fix it.
