Well, yeah, but for some reason, the mods around here still think there is some value in those "Apple Store down for nothing" threads...

The thread is akin to shooting with a blunderbuss.

So you didn't get too far with your request on the feedback forum so you decided to create an "official" thread.

Well good luck, you seem to have an issue with people creating store is down threads and here you created one. Kind of ironic

Why are you trying to kill everyone's fun by reducing the number of Apple Store Down threads, turtle? We all seem to enjoy them, it's only you that wants to alter this glorious MacNN tradition. Shame on you.

That's a technicality, as the Store WILL be down again soon. That's guaranteed.

And people don't stop posting to these threads once the store is back open, so I don't see how the timing has a lot of importance.

So, are you guys getting ready for the weekly Apple Store closure.

Get your rumors ready, too.

I predict we're gonna get the new iPod G756, a EleventyBillion Core Mac Pro and the MacBookAtom.

You can do this any day you'd like.

Step 1. Unplug Router.
Step 2. Try to load Apple Site
Step 3. OMGOMGOMG!!!

So, we have a new Airport Express with 802.11n, as predicted.

That's it, folks, nothing to see here.

I don't understand the point of 802.11n routers with only 10/100 wired speed. I guess with the express it's somewhat OK, since in two of it's uses it's either distributing to only wireless devices or extending a wireless network. But, if it's providing wireless access to a wired network, your wireless speed is only as good as 10/100 for getting data to any wireless devices (better than G, yes, but not near as good as N)

Huh ?

Max. Throughput for 802.11n is 74 Mbit/s.

HOW exactly is a 10/100 Ethernet a bottle neck ?

Max data rate for 802.11n is 300Mbit/s (just as the max data rate for 802.11g is 54Mbit/s and for 802.11b is 11Mbit/s)

Only if you have a mixed environment.

But the max. data rate of WLANs is a useless number.

In my understanding, ther eis a great difference between the max. data rate and the throughout in WLANS. There is NOT that much of a difference in ethernet.

So for real life results, the throuput is important. And for that, 802.11n is NOT significantly different than ethernet on paper, but heck, in real time applications, it's a difference like day and night.

So your whole argument is wrong, 10/100 ethernet is NOT a bottle neck.

That's right -- and it's no bottleneck, either.

I guess nothing happened for that week.

Are we going to have another one each week?

I'm hoping Apple will introduce a new Mac Mini.
