I think it took a few days for me, but it could have been earlier because I didn't notice the small link at first

I had 3 invites to pass out on the second day of use ... in three days I received five more. That is not universal though, a friend of mine has been actively using it for a week and didn't receive any invites yet. Google also give out a bunch on holidays, so expect a few on 4th of July

Unless they go public before then, of course.

Hmm, I've registered successfully, but gmail won't load for me. Thanks Pete! Maybe cuz I'm using Safari 1.0 ? You don't get safari 1.2 until you get panther, I don't think.

How long do you think before they start charging for this? And will the early adapters be exempt from said charges? ::remembers iTools::

That or someone is making up new accounts so they can get more than one gmail invite.

So I have not yet gotten any invites to pass along even though I have been using gmail everyday. Does the generation of invite you get make you less likely to get them? As an example, I got an invite from someone here who got it from Peter.
