We bought a Mac mini and an Ipod nano last week.. the mac lasted 2 days, the ipod 5 !!!

After 5 days of normal operation, the ipod would not boot at all unless I reset it. It looked low so we recharged it (even though it was charged the day before). It eventually comes up (sometimes) after using a reset (powering it on does not work) and plays songs, but after you shut it down it won't boot again unless you reset it again...

Has anyone seen this ? Back to the apple store - again !!!

NOt impressed thus far, 2 for 2 !

Loud slamming noise provided courtesy of Severed Hand.

If other electronic devices are having problems, there may be a power issue in the home. If you haven't already, maybe investing in a few high-quality surge suppressors and/or UPS's may help.

Otherwise, I have no experience with the mini or iPod nano.

Sometimes it takes a while for a new member's registration to filter through so that it displays correctly. Also, someone who has been ultra-mega-nuclear baninnated may still show up in some threads with zero posts. The database is funky that way.

deschodt, I agree with the others-TAKE THEM BACK! That's just wrong and lasting less than a week is still within most jurisdictions' "must accept returns" regulations. In other words, whoever you got the Mini and the Nano from should give you new ones right away.

You have to realize that the guy was new and looking for help from experienced Mac folks
and instead he got a sarcastic remark (It was not a joke...get a dictionary) which wasn't appropriate. This is the kind of crap that makes Mac users look like elitest snobs. Is anyone here old enough to remember the concept of ... "If you don't have something nice to say...."???

Sometimes when I don't use my iPod for a few days, I'll have to reset it (center + menu hold) and then it works fine. But if I turn it off and turn it back on or only go a day or two, I don't have to reset.

Just calling it like it is. soryr if you cannot accept that fact that some folks think that sarcasm is joking around. That simply doesn't work in real life, much less in a forum where that stuff is practically impossible to pick up on.

That's a horrible experience. I would still give Apple a chance to replace them and see how you do.
