i recently replaced the pram battery on my desktop G3 266Mhz running OS 8.5. After doing a clean install of the OS and resetting PRAM i still see the following problems:

1) when i open the sound control panel and look at output options the computer crashes. when i open the sound part of the monitors and sounds control panel no input or output options are shown.

2)tech tools pro 3 shows that the HD fails the seek test but passes everything else. i checked blocks in both tech tools and norton system works and they said everything is ok.

3) when i try to run virtual PC 4, which has run previously, it puts up a dialog saying VPC ran out of memory and to increase its memory. i increased memory to 50M, with and without virtual memory on , and i get the same message.

any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
