That's the funniest thread name I've seen in a long time!

Yes, I'm quite glad they didn't keep the 'd*ck' like that. It would have been hideous to have a different background for each app.

and theres that lovely apple in the middle of the friggin menu bar. seriously, whoever came up with taht idea, i hope they were dragged out to the streets and beaten with a blunt object and then fired. That's one of the worst ideas I've EVER seen and i am SO happy apple decided against it.

I'm not really an expert on such things, but that is an ugly d*ck!

Geez, it's funny looking back at the way things could have been though.

So, I take it that I'm not the only one getting dozens of Dock Enhancement spam every day?

I mean, sure, everyone would like a larger Dock, but these E-mails are so annoying.

I forgot how alien the DP GUI was. I imagine some old-time Mac users' hearts must have stopped on first booting into that.

That's why I have my d*ck set to "magnify" - you never know when you will need a big d*ck at a moment's notice.

Size does matter, after all. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">Here's a trip through the time machine: Ars Technica's articles about DP2 (pre-Aqua!) and DP3.

<a href="http://www.arstechnica.com/reviews/4q99/macos-x-dp2/macos-x-dp2-1.html" target="_blank">Mac OS X DP2: A Preview</a>

<a href="http://www.arstechnica.com/reviews/1q00/macos-x-dp3/macos-x-dp3-1.html" target="_blank">Mac OS X DP3: Trial By Water</a>

There's a lot that I had forgotten about DP3...the underlines under the dock tiles instead of the current arrows, the old file structure (Local, Network, System -- each with their own Applications folder, and each user in the Users folders under Local and Network had their own Applications folders too), Single Window Mode, the "People" icon in the Finder, the icon-based application menu, the Aqua-like menu bar for Classic apps and re-arranged platinum window widgets...wow.

Things sure have changed. And 10.2 will finally make that Search box in the DP3 Finder functional!

this is my fave quote from Ars Technica:

"Opaque resize is inordinately slow for no good reason (it's so slow that I must assume it's some sort of implementation bug in DP3)."
