Got it a couple of hours ago, transfered everything from a PB 15 last gen using FW 800...took less than 20 minutes, wich was great(around 10 gigs).Comments so far:
-Gorgeous screen,no dead pixels, bright as the freakin' sun.
-Fast,really fast.FCP 5 running better than ever.
-Not a single problem with the transfer, had to reinstall a couple apps that weren't universal.
-MS Office sucks a LOT of memory.
-Gets really hot, specially the left side of the palmrest, but it's a desktop replacement, no biggie.
Still have to leave it on for a few days and see what happens, but so far so good!Open to any questions, and sorry no photos, cam was stolen.
Gustavo.

Congratulations! I'm really happy for you :-D I too have a high res 17inch.

I'm just interested to see if your 17inch has the same 'issue' as present within mine and a couple other MacNN users. The description can be read about in the following thread:

I don'have the problem you say, although i saw it happening to the demo unit at the apple store..i almost didn't buy it because of the screen of the demo unit.Very uneven lighting, lots of leaking from the bottom.Mine has some leaking, but a lot less than this powerbook i'm typing from right now(i'm reinstalling the OS on the new machine, transfering the data wasn't the best ideia after all).

Does Open Office work well with OS X Tiger? Also does it work well with Intel ...??
Because I was thinking of installing it .....
On the other hand this may not be the correct forum for this question ..!!

Give NeoOffice a try. It doesn't require X11 to run, its "aquafied" and it works very well on both PPC and Intel systems.
