Now that the MPB C2Ds are out I've decided to end my long wait and order one (upgrading from a 667/G4 PB that has served me quite well for many years). Anyway, one of the things that I am most excited about is running those 2/3 XP-only programs that I need for work via virtualization. A colleague of mine did try Parallels on her MBP back in August, but ended up going the Bootcamp route do to usb-issues that were never adequately resolved. Now that my machine will be arriving this week, I'll be itching to start playing with virtualization. I know I can start playing with virtualization immediately via Parallels, but given my colleague's previous experience and the anticipation of a high-quality initial release by VMWare I find myself debating whether to wait for VMWare's release. So, any idea how soon we might see the beta program initiated by VMWare?
