Just got back from a business trip and discovered that Apple released a Firmware update for the AE basestation. Before I left things were working great (e.g., printing work, access to airdisks, etc.) and Airport Utility could see my basestation. Upon my return, I've also noticed that I cannot see my airdisks, cannot print and Airport Utility cannot see the basestation....but I can still access my cable modem and the outside world. From what I've read the temporary solution (until Apple gets it's act together) is to downgrade via the following procedure:

Launch AirPort Utility (in /Applications/Utilities)
Select your Base station from the left-hand pane
Click "Manual Setup"
Select "Upload Firmware" from the Edit menu
Choose version 7.2 from the "Upload Version" menu
Click OK.

Unfortunately, as I just pointed out, Airport Utility cannot see my base station! So, any suggestions on how I might downgrade AE firmware?

I'm able to answer my own question.

All I needed to do is restart the AE base station. Now Airport Utility can see my base station , I can see my airdisks and I can print. And, so far, I'm now longer experiencing the problems others have following this firmware update.
