Optics Buffs: can I make a zoom objective lens for my iSight?

Just wondering, I think it would be cool if I can make a 10x zoom for my Macbook iSight, and combine it with a periscope contraption.
All for bona fide purposes of course.

I'm rather sure you could simply use a 10x lens attached to the periscope.

I remember reading about a guy who hooked an iSight up to his telescope. It should be possible.
