getting my new mac, but not exactly a switcher, took a long vacation from the mac world, last one was a quadra 604.

Anyway, eagerly awaiting my powerbook 1.3 15", I was wondering if there are any known issues of mixing ram from different manufacturers?

i have heard that you need samsung (apple OEM) ram in the 1st slot, and you can pick what you want in the 2nd slot.

My 15" 1.5 GHz Powerbook came with an Apple preinstalled Hynix 512 MB stick in the lower slot. I put a second Samsung 1GB in the upper slot. Works perfectly. Why wouldn't it?

Nope. Good ram should work in either slot.

thanks guys, got my 15" in today, right now, doing a clean re-install of OSX, since within 15 mins of playing with it, finder froze while copying some files. The re-install takes quite a while, and the cd drive is sooooooo loud, and it gets really hot... Anyway, I guess I have to get used to the new mac standards. Does look purrrty tho.
