iPhone. My iPad is seriously lonely.

The whole "computer in my pocket" deal has been life transforming.

I would opt for the iPhone. You can do more things with that.

well at least you get the best of both worlds, right?

Actually, there's a bit of truth in that. I noticed that iPad is becoming more of a coffeetable accessory. A little inconvenient to be carrying around. iPhone is a "micro-iPad" plus the convenience to be carried around and to make calls anytime. To be fair, iPad is quite good for people who love iBook and gaming. But for me personally, I had a hard time gaming using the iPad (i tried my colleague's iPad for the Counter Attack app). Need some time to get used to it, i think... Well I still love using my desktop for shooting games though, don't know if I'm sourgraping or not, haha!

iPhone. I have a v1 iPad and overall as a handheld device it has been too big and clunky for my likes. Enough so that I usually go to the 17" Macbook Pro when the iPhone is inadequate.

A fast midsize iPad, however, may change the playing field.

I've had use of and iPad since the first one came out. Finally got an iPhone4 under Verizon (waited for reception and cost) and haven't needed to pick up an iPad for personal use since. Proferssional, educationally, - daily uses for the iPad. But MacBook and iPhone - done.
Just sayin'

I would choose an IPad, no contest.

In fact I have 2 IPads and no iPhone.

An iPhone is pretty useless compare to an iPad.

Reading, writting, using Skype, Pages, etc ... is incredibly better on the iPad.

And I can easily phone.

Plus can have a data pan without an expensive phone contract !

So why get an iPhone ?

Lucky ones who get to have the two!
Well, I do think that it depends on the user himself. In my opinion, if you're always on the go then an iPhone is good. iPads are truly maximized especially if used for entertainment, work/school related activities MOST of the time.
But again, if you could get both, why not?
But you know if it is TRUE that Apple releases a smaller iPad, then count me in!

The other day, we watched the Matrix Trilogy on an iPad. Seriously, the experience was great mainly because of the bigger screen size. But then, I'm happy and contented with my iPhone.
