I just bought a used, almost new, eMac that seems to work just great except . . .when I have Stickies open and Word, if I do anything to a Stickie, it freezes. I haven't used the computer enough to use it extensively with other programs. It seemed OK when Explorer and Entourage were open. The computer is for my Mom and I wanted to have Stickies to remind her how to get e-mail, etc.

Does anyone know if there is a known conflict -- and/or suggestions?

If you purchase a used machine I think it is a good idea to completely erase the hard-disk and freshly install operating system and applications. You never know what (stupid things) the previous owner did.

I could not think of why or how Stickies could conflict with Office. When a program freezes you can open Activity Monitor and sample the program. The command to do this is in the View menu. This may or may not give you a hint about what the problem may be.
