Can someone tell me how to stop the Dock from bouncing application icons when they want my attention? It was cool at first but I'm getting tired of it....

If you unclick Animate opening applications in the Dock pane of System Preferences, won't that turn the attention bouncing off too?

As analogika said, Dock Detox is an application enhancer that will fix this for you.

Here is the link:
[unsanity] Dock Detox - Dock Detox removes application icon bouncing in the Dock

It doesn't work with Intel Macs as of yet though.

Ack.

I failed to realize that it's from Unsanity and requires their APE extension.

Stay the hell away from it; it WILL cause problems *some time* down the line, in *some* completely innocuous system update.
