Hi All,

At first I'd decided that the engineers who built my iPod (60GB Video) had timed it _almost_ perfectly: the right channel cut out yesterday, two day before the warranty ended.

I checked the problem with 3 different pairs of headphones and yep, the right channel really was gone. I treat my iPod pretty well (hard case, don't remove the 'phones too often, never dropped), and so I was quite confused at this problem, but I was going to bring it back to Apple to see what was what.

In preparation for it's trip to Apple, I did a Restore on the iPod (to wipe my music and send them a pristine machine). Just before leaving my computer, I decided, on a whim, to try it one more time and, lo and behold! the right channel was back (on all three pairs of tester headphones, plus some extras).

Ok, so what's the deal here? The right channel going was when I was on the road, it's not like I used iTunes to move the Balance only to the left channel.

Sure hope it's _not_ a hardware problem, I've only got one day left in the warranty!

Chas
