When I put my PowerMac to sleep, from the rear of the 20" Cinema there is a low ticking sound. Much like a watch (or should I say bomb?!)
Put your mac to sleep and please tell me you hear it too.

Mine is silent. I'm not sure what could be causing it. (my wireless router always makes a little noise, but that's it.)

Just figured out, that it also ticks when the computer is shut down. The sound comes out of the 4 slots on the back. Just a low ticking...

Bring it back to where you bought it. There should not be noise like that coming from your display.

yeah, my two 20" nor my 23" make any sort of clicking sounds...it could be a transistor popping or something--might want to get that looked at. If the retailer doesn't want to help you out, call Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE)

Am I still here?

That's it, exactly, and I guess your 20" s have it too.
Why?
I took mine back and they checked it and found out, that all their 20" 's have it!
However you won't hear it, if you are in an office with other people or if there is another computer running (or you grew up with a discman ). It has to be really quiet.
Be happy if you don't hear it...
