Disable/delete system folders?

Hi
How can i disable or delete system folders? Let`s suppose i have three system folders on one partion ( 9.0.4/9.1/OSX) and i want to disable/delete one of them to "clean up" the partion. How can i do this?

If it's not the startup system, you can just dump the folder. I'd start up from a bootable CD just to be safe, though.

Don't know if you're an ex-windows person, but I guess if you've been used to Windows, it really is remarkable how easy some things can be on a Mac
