The Mac Pro does not come with an Apple remote, nor does it in fact have a built-in IR receiver to use one.

For video editing, grab a refurb mac pro. I bought a 24inch iMac when I started editing but moved up to a refurb mac pro. A big difference. Less than half the time to render. Are you going to use FCE or FCP?

if you get a wireless keyboard, then you have pretty much the same features as a remote. Apple escape gets you into front row mode ...

Or you can get a remote like the ATi RemoteWonder. The driver software is still PowerPC, but it works just fine. They're cheap on eBay, too. And they're RF, so they work through walls.

Apple Remote & Mira USB IR Receivers - Manta Remote Hardware from Twisted Melon has some info on IR receivers that will work on the Mac Pro if you want to use the Apple Remote.
